I was confused. On that call JL said we are $3 million ahead of budget. If that is the case, then why were so many people cut? There is a lot more going on here than we see.I personally think we're headed for a fire sale.

Unlike the people they get rid off and sp-t on from their offices (especially JH), the SLT has equity in Staples. When Staples is sold, the SLT will cash out and be given packages to stay during the transaction to keep potential buyers interested or the court satisfied during a bankruptcy. They will cut and cut to keep the business going long enough to sell it. The SLT is pretty safe since there are plenty of business units to sell off or shut down and lay off all staff. It’s sad, but that is what you get when you sell out to SP.

SLT is working on a 3 year plan. Here’s the challenge for them: if the plan isn’t working the next layoff should be the whole SLT. No one left at that level, start fresh. And they get 20 weeks severance upon separation and health insurance ends that week. SLT has no skin in the game. They can fail and others pay the price. They need to lead and stop laying the blame on the employees.

Why does anybody even listen to the calls? It's nothing but lies, lies and more lies. It's like listening to politicians. They like to hear themselves talk and they believe their own lies. The collapse of Staples started even before SP but since they took over it has been a nothing but failure and lies. It's unfortunate that private equity firms are allowed to destroy companies and lives and then bankrupt them then do it again and again.. it should be illegal. The greed and lies need to STOP now!!!

It was painful to listen to the reasonings they cut Project Furniture, they kept citing the same couple reasons and none of those were even tasks they did. They really are clueless in what the day to day is for a majority of their own company.

He is a pr--k that justifies his pr--k behavior by being "brave" enough to publicly recognize that some people know he is a pr--k. Pure exercise in ego with a sprinkling of " you asked for this" mixed in

I am who I am is not a justification for treating people poorly. We all have multiple selves. It’s up to you which you choose to present to others. If you didn’t consider others then you didn’t bring your best self to the table. (Paraphrased from another post)

Jeff Hall is the d-mbest person I’ve listen to…

Jeff why did we get rid of Project furniture?

“We lose money installing cables, moving walls and laying carpet”

Explain why this company is going the wrong way.
