Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Accepted an offer

Been at Oracle for 10+ years. Work in one of the GBU’s. Year after year I saw leadership set terrible examples, treat people like cr-p, turn people against one another and overall act like some of the lowest life forms I’ve ever seen. The last 90 days I’ve applied and interviewed, all during my Oracle work day. I got multiple offers the last 3 weeks. Accepted one. Oracle has no idea but they’re not only destroying their employee base, their former employees are going to destroy them after. I will. It’s a terrible place to work and the world knows it. I don’t lay claim that people there are stiffs. I call it as something like Stockholm syndrome. Oracle is your captor and you have this obedience or allegence to them. I know no company is perfect but in my GBU, I have seen nothing but frauds, fakes, POS’s and people who are going to get smacked upside the head when the Karma train comes by and it will. Good riddance.

OP here. If I can say there is a win in any of this, it’s either leaving or realizing how screwed up Oracle is and moving away from that. I honestly feel that all the bad these people did running this place will impact them in some way, shape or form. I know for me I am once again excited about my professional life. On the flip side, I’m leaving people who are struggling mentally and emotionally and I worry about them.

That makes me human. Something many in oracle mgmt have long since lost.

Normal, LE is 77. The sole captain (after God) on this sinking ship.

Oracle has a gang culture and they kick people out of this sinking ship based on the needs of their group. No one is really working for Oracle's future, they are just waiting for their retirement comes someday. If you see this kind of group, don't join, jump off the ship now.

All the management is sc-m. Corruption is rampant. Lying, cheating, stealing... those are the attributes that stand out at Oracle. Good that you are getting out. More people need to do that.

And it all starts at the very top. It is for this that it will never change.

I spent 30 years in tech development and worked for a dozen companies in silicon valley. Oracle was the absolute worst. In my opinion, any other company is very likely to be better than Oracle. Get out of the company and leave the trauma behind.

I was extremely traumatized when I left Oracle, couldn't trust anyone anymore. Everyone lying about something. People lying about me behind my back. Now that I have been out for a couple of years, things are starting to become more normal for me. Oracle was a horrible experience. The worst of humanity collect there.

OP here….first thank you. I held out hope that people who I originally looked to as leaders and adults, turned out to be just absolutely worthless frauds who were totally incompetent and would sc--w over everyone but their own family. I’m a loyal person but I realized these people running my GBU are actually talentless spineless soulless losers that will be at Oracle as long as they pay them. I also came to the conclusion they will not be joining me anywhere cause no tech companies…heck no one wants them. The funny thing is it came down to just being a good person and valuing your people. The people running my GBU are like from the 80’s mentality and total sc-m.

That's the same reason I left Oracle. It was my dream job to work there, and after 5 years of trying to get it, it took me the next 6 to get out. I am scared after working there, I will no longer work on there technology stack after almost 20 years experience on it;

They keep trying to recruit me back, but I have no interest. Most of my peers have left, except the ones who don't have enough skills to go somewhere else, or the H1s they hold captive for low wages until they get their visas and move on.

If you decide to work there; be prepared for NO RAISES. For 6 years, not even a .50c raise; and due to the continuing comp plan changes, most of the years there was little bonus.

Everything the opp stated here is true.

Oracle just sent me job posting with this video. I am not sure what cloud they are on, but almost everything I watched in the video is complete malarkey; a malaise and lie.

The original poster is going to be joined by an army. Oracle has been all about consumption … of their people!
