Thread regarding General Atomics layoffs

Sometimes I envy those who are laid off

All those former colleagues got a package, got relief and now work in much better companies. Short term stress was well worth it in their case.
Somehow it seems to me that those who survive layoffs are in a much worse position.

You envy people but your lazy bu-t is still at GA Bc no one else wants to hire you Bc you have no marketable skills! You are a GA lifer!

Some people were laid off and still hunting for a job, so everyone didn’t make out. It would appear the longer someone stayed at GA the less marketable their skills are. I know people that were at GA less than 2 years and found a job a month later… got paid from GA and their new job at the same time. GA can be very comfortable, one doesn’t have to work hard, one can fall asleep at your desk, and one skills don’t have to be up to date and one will be award with a raise… the issue only occurs if you want to leave GA and then one finds out … they are lazy, their skills are outdated and no one wants to hire them anymore

GA is just getting back to its 99 cents store, right??
Cheap products, cheap buildings, ...
Do you really want your career and life story to be called cheap, or do you want something better?
