Have you also noticed that more and more people quit without giving notice? I know two people who recently left and didn’t give notice. To me, it’s completely unprofessional.
I understand that people are outraged at this company, but that’s not okay, if nothing else because of former colleagues. What are the reasons people leave this way?
My last boss at DST stepped in and prevented me from getting an interview for a promotion to another team because he knew I was one of only two competent associates on his team.
I should have left sooner, but I didn't. I gave my two weeks when I left, and the look on his face and the two weeks following when I didn't have to do a damn thing were well worth it.
No company in the history of ever has given an employee 2 week notice on getting canned. Why should the reverse be a standard of professionalism?
Coworkers you get along with are nice but they don’t pay the bills or clear the mind/clam the soul/sooth the heart quite like removing yourself from a toxic environment.

Ha! Like others said, they've fired thousands with zero notice, if an employee "fires" them without notice, that's pretty much the same thing right? Also like others said, you can only beat a dog so much before they stop coming around. Also people quit managers, not companies. Everyones gone, what am I supposed to do all? All this work by myself? Are they even interviewing replacements? Manager, help? Get to work! Ok, bye!
I understand why people just walk away, I almost did a few times but realized that these are emotional responses to stress and poor treatment by those in charge. I realized by walking away, I only hurt my peers who are also in a bad place. The company doesn’t have a hart, no soul, and no feelings. They wont miss you for a minuet.

Dear original poster : people keep bringing up mental and emotional abuse as DST. So if your suffering emotionally - thats a perfectly good reason for walking away. Are you just supposed to work yourself into a breakdown? Or ruin your family relationships cause your stressed out? When there are thousands of other jobs in KC that pay more that will hire you just based on the fact you stuck it out at a horrible company like DST? You have freedom to walk out - DST has freedom to fire you on the spot. Its a fair balance.
They cr-p on all there employees so I don't blame them. DST isn't professional it is a Sh&t Ho-e that abuses there employees. I don't blame anyone there for walking out of that Sh&t Ho-e without notice. They sure the H&LL don't give you notice when they throw you out the door. I wish everyone would walk out on the same day and tell Stone to STICK IT!
