Thread regarding Hitachi Vantara layoffs

Cloud

Just stopped by this forum to check if there are any new rumors and I saw that someone mentioned trying to retool HV into the cloud. Many think that these attempts are failing. I wonder why?

HV appears to have never been or plans to be anything other than a write-off for Hitachi LTD.

HV is going through the 4th stage of their corporate extinction . They, you, are the white rhino. HV’s creativity and bravery needed has disappeared, vanished. HV is in their last stage of extinction, which is all about bureaucracy, internal politics and towing the line. There are simply too many codes, both written and unwritten, for true innovation to happen.

There are now much savvier kids on the block, and analysts are smelling the scent of death. You are the white rhino.

Vantara's cloud play is made up of slides with nothing behind it. Everyone worth anything has already left.

Whatever happened to HV's cloud play? I remember they were tinkering.

They fail because the same presention decks are rehashed with different titles. Its called HV marketing and (sadly) HV engineering. HDS had some great product in their day. So did DEC, Sun and Wang

Too little and too late. Vantara couldn't decide if they were competing or partnering with the hyperscalers. They did neither and now they are irrelevant.
