With Follett's push to move away from PT team members and towards NXT temps, it's really got me thinking about the financial aspect behind this. How are we actually saving money by hiring a temp agency? Aren't we having to pay them to do the hiring, thus negating some of the savings? Does anyone have any specifics on how this relationship between Follett and NXT actually works? What's the benefit for Follett?

The temp thing is to protect Follett from I9 everify fines. Probably saved Follett thousands over the fines they used to get.

A typical service agreement includes recruiting and other services Baked into the hourly rate for each temp. Hourly rates are about double what the temp earns, a bargain for short term needs, the value prop is 120 days. No recruiting or HR costs, and if you don’t like one you ask them to leave with no legal liability to your company. Our temps WFH the first week to attend virtual training to learn about our company, policies and systems.
I think we might get a bill for the temps and don't have to pay for maybe like 90 days. I don't know that much about it, but the bill is probably due soon. Follett really seems to like delayed payments, even if it ends up costing more through fees or interest charges.
