Workload is ridiculous

Our work/life balance has gone to he-l. After months, this is the first time I'll get to spend some quality time with my family for more than one day a week. It's ridiculous how much is expected of us lately. We used to be able to have a life, now that's a pipe dream. I keep doing it because I keep hoping we'll go back to normal, but it's not happening. I'm not sure for how much longer I'll be willing to continue like this.

I started off in Big 4 public accounting and quickly realized that it was not for me. Ended up getting fired and luckily I landed a gig doing land development for a large public homebuilder. Getting Fired was the best thing to happen in my life. Im only required to be in the office 1-2 days a week, none of the 9-5 b.s and I pretty much make my schedule. Boss man checks in by calling about twice a week and that's. I love construction so my career is not a job but more like a hobbie.
