None of those brands meant anything! Tru Red or NXT etc. what does that mean compared to Staples as a brand name! JL was behind all those brands and they were an abysmal failure. Why do you think they are changing Ink and Toner and some other supply categories back to Staples Brand? It’s because they finally figured out that Staples as a brand carries much more weight than Tru Red, NXT, etc. PS who drives his Maserati to work is an empty suit! He was RS’ boy because he pushed 100,000 items to Dotcom back in the day so RS could get a $3 million bonus. It didn’t matter what the items were including garter belts that had to be pulled down. He and his cronies aren’t merchants. He surrounds himself with YES people like EC who cost the company millions because of his lack of leadership abilities. While it’s important to get behind management initiatives it’s equally important to let them know that the initiative is not working as intended and to offer up solutions. Especially when the initiative is losing the company money. But not weak minded people who are in the position as a YES man! If your job has been eliminated be grateful and move on. They are plenty of jobs available. Oh and more people will be eliminated in January and in April from what I heard.

Every national sales meeting was hype, the beginning of the end of another pathetic initiative. Let's throw this s**t on the wall and see if it sticks.

To the person mentioning how to compete against Amazon, they missed that bus years around. Around 2015-2016, at that national sales meeting, management at the time was asked, "how are we going to go to market against Amazon". At that time, Amazon was selling a couple million in supplies. The answer from the fearless leaders??? "we're not worried about them, they will never compete with us." LMFAO!

Changing the logo was the stupidest waste of money. Logo and brand was iconic. The focus should have been on competing with Amazon and becoming a marketplace like Walmart to transform the business. Investing in Marketing of the existing logo would have been a smarter plan. S was too focused on being woke and J was a joke. What a waste those years with those leaders were. Waste of money, waste of time, Good luck rebuilding what they broke.

Pains me to think of how many jobs could've been saved with the money that went it marketing spend and travel. All for a massive fist pumping j/o.
