Have they lost their God Damn Minds!?

How many more executives can they possibly hire? Are there anymore left for other company’s to employ, or have we taken every last one on the planet?

They have honestly gone mad and this place has become amuck, amuck I tell you, with rampant spending on executive salaries! I bet if you add up every Senior Director level salaries, it would exceed ALL OF RETAIL hourly wages for the entire supermarket and market district division.

The F is wrong with these people, isn’t someone saying “wait a second here folks”! We are blowing every last penny on frivolous spends that won’t make us a cr-p penny more!

Need I remind everyone of the thousands of “Team Members” whom Loss Prevention escorted off the property only 5 years ago during their mass lay-offs? Imagine the size when the well runs dry!

Like they say, the third generation always runs the ship into an iceberg!

This company resembles that of the relationship between Medicare and United States Government where Medicare bills the government $1,375.67 for an insulin syringe that costs only $1.23.

Meaning they are paying an executive $412,745 a year who’s only qualified to be making $67,428 annually in real world money.

I'm at corporate they just created a new position executive vp of keeping giant eagles social media positive. Pay is 400k a year plus expense account apply on workday!

It’s no wonder their retail employees live below the poverty line while these m’fers shove their mouths full of our dignity!

To further the bonus reply from below, when I was in HR I saw first hand the special "family" bonus structure as well (add and additional 80k to your bonus, wth). Who knew that high-end Gannon degree would pay off so well for both wife AND husband?!

I see one VERY important topic that has yet to surface.

Enter Stage Left

EXECUTIVE BONUS PROGRAM!

Not only are you making ungodly money raping the company, corporate expense account, credit card without a limit, discretionary spending account (which I’ll come back to), but they also receive TWICE THEIR SALARY every other year in what’s called the Executive Bonus Program. So let’s say your making $400,000 a year as our newly promoted Vice President of Customer Experience (or some stupid sh-t like that), on EXECUTIVE BONUS years he will receive an $800,000 when the company magically achieves max bonus! Nobody’s talking about that I see, probably because the company keeps it ridiculously quiet as it will upset their poverty level retail employees!

Back to the discretionary spending account. A handful of years back our then newly hired technology executive from eBay was fired when Laura found out he spend $250,000 (Almost 23,000 retail labor hours!!) to redecorate his office! Clearly the limit was only $249,000! Seriously, that $250k would have paid for 568 FULL TIME new hires for an entire week! (250,000 divided by $11 an hour average rate at the time).

What an awesome bunch of Lizard Lips, as Clark W Grizwald would say, we have steering this company into ground. It’s true, the 3rd generation is always the one who bankrupts their family business.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.. Giant Eagle is a horrible company to work for. Just read all the posts in this website about this company. No other company has this many negative responses. Don’t apply to work there and encourage others not to.

Apply at the Butler Refrigerated meats facility. You’ll start out around $16 per hour. Once you get in the union, you’ll be over $20 / hr. That’s when the fun begins. You can chew tobacco and sp-t your chew on the floors and boxes of product throughout the facility. You can hide in the bathroom for 30 minutes, take excessive smoke breaks, especially on 1st shift. You’ll also only pay less than $20 per week for your top tier health insurance that includes your family. You are also going to receive a weekly incentive that averages from $40-$120. This is dependent upon your selection average or high lift percentage. If you work on day turn, don’t worry about your percentage. You don’t have to leave the break room until 5:45 am, even though your shift started at 5 am. You can scan off the system before your 15 minute scheduled break. While your outside smoking or watching tv for 45 minutes, that time won’t be held against your standard. If any of the directors knew how to look in the labor management system, several people would be terminated for stealing time on a daily basis. 1st shift also receives a $1200 Xmas bonus every year.

They can spend on the upper and some middle management, but can not afford the property fees at some locations.
The year is 2026, there are 75 upper and middle managers and 11 retail locations left.
