I think BP is doing some patchwork. Got a raise out of the blue. Embarrassed to have the manager tell me how much of a pay bump. Amounted to less than a 1% increase. An extra $200 or so annually when figuring taxes. I expect rent to go up more than that for my place. I won't turn down a pay increase but BP did this a few years ago with a pay bump out of the blue, sometime right after the Cabelas purchase. No explanation given. Maybe a market pay rate increase? HR person mentioned to me in passing one day that I got a pay raise. Gee wonder what the annual pay increase will be in the spring. Our department has had price increases the past month. Not small increases either. A lot of them over 10%. Will we get a pay increase to cover inflation?

One time I actually got a 4 cent pay increase at BPS. My boss apologized, said he had to fight for it or I would have gotten nothing. I don't know why they bother.
I am in an area where the pay for fast food workers is higher than BP. I'd have to cover my own insurance but could do that with Obamacare.
This is a huge issue for me. I’m full time and haven’t received a pay increase since March. If the company can’t match inflation or my new apartment lease come April I’m gunna have to quit.
