Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

My final weeks here

I'm ready to leave. It took me eighteen months to find the right employer where I won't have to face the same things I did here, and I believe I finally did. BP is poorly run and managed and it's only a matter of time before some major consequences catch up to the company. When it happens, I'll be long gone.

Congratulations, unfortunately don’t think your role will get back filled. Seems they are just letting teams just deal with it.

The best people I worked with left during reinvent. Most were treated terribly, I would not trust a single leader that was in those selection conversation - just look at who they left in place.

Seeing it all the time. Good people leaving for opportunities outside the energy industry. It’s to be expected. Bp still has the same old guard running the show - just now they have incompetent and over promoted diverse teams to deal with.

Still people leaving every week. No promo chances unless you tick the right gender and race box.

Bitter. Why didn’t you just leave at reinvent and get some cash?

It’s a year since all the people with ideas, drive and challenge left of their own accord or were shown the door by jealous TLs.
