Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Luckily, it seems to have slowed down

At one time I thought that absolutely all my colleagues would leave. Before the new year, more people left in one month than in all these years that I have been working here. And of course, there is more work than ever. Now it seems to me that resignations have somewhat slowed down? Or does it just seem to me?

Hey vaccine guy. You know that vaccines don't stop the spread right? Nobody is putting you "In Danger". A vaccinated person will give it to you the EXACT same as a non vaccinated person. Has nothing to do with YOU.

@OP Everyone who can find a job elsewhere has done so. The people who are still there have no other options.

The jobs market is red-hot. Employers are offering hiring bonuses, extra PTO, location flexibility, and paid family leave. UP offers nothing except for below average pay, average benefits, a toxic/abusive work environment, and a draconian attendance policy dating back to the 1890s.

So sorry about the death of your neighbor. I will pray for God to comfort you in the middle of the grief.

@pox, shut up all the anti vaccine nonsense. The virus continues to ki-l thousands needlessly (including my neighbor who was 33 and in perfect health before contracting the virus). If you want to put your and your families health in danger by not being vaccinated then more power to you. However, you do not have the right to put my life in danger due your ignorance.

People have left for all manner of reasons, it's a great time to transition to a new career that you can make close to, or better money and have a better life overall.

Whatever their individual reasoning, many have left. We will end up losing more if this mandate nonsense is upheld. CDC is about to change the official definition of "fully vaccinated" so if you 'bit the bullet' and took the jab even if you didn't want it, be prepared to roll the dice again to be able to satisfy Omaha. The official numbers form Omaha say they have 25% UNjabbed, and there are plenty of jabbed @ UP that are saying they won't be getting any more... Couple that with UP's inability to hire anyone and they're going to be forced to make some manpower decisions they don't want to.
