Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

This is the perfect time to leave

What are you waiting for, people? The writing on the wall can't be clearer. Take advantage of the current job market. Those who claim that there are no jobs are either trolling or too lazy to search properly. There will never be a better moment for you to leave. It's on you to decide if you want to grab it.

Lighten up…you act like you never read a trolling post before. He or she is right about the inaccurate company information.

Felt the same about that prior post. What’s the deal? You were He once and She now? So slick to reapply and join the same company you so complained about. Then now what, you are a pretty ‘She’ and will seek employment else where and be happy ever after. OMG! Stop with that ramble. You just wasted my time reading your awkward story! Good luck anyway. And please, as said, don’t drink before you post!

Your post is stupider than the plot of a Mexican telenovela. How many shots have you had today? Please try to be more sober when you post.

I once worked for Staples and things were ok . But then I got laid off . However , I got a call to come back , which I did . Things seemed normal , but then things got weird , and there were rumors that we were about to downsize , so I faked a LOA and stayed on the sidelines for a while. Then I came back and things returned to normal. Well, it was only normal for a little while , and then those pesky lay off rumors began again . Everyone in my department ( there are 2 of us in my department ) began to act paranoid and were constantly spreading rumors , and that included me , but because there were only two of us , the rumors were just between me and them . That got old quick , so I put in for a transfer to another area , and to my surprise , I got a new assignment . Then I got laid off . I reapplied under a new name and identity and was hired and nobody was suspicious . Probably because of the gender change and the cosmetic surgery. Anyway , with all this drama and craziness, I haven’t really been able to assess whether or not things are good or not good . So I began to read t( postings on this site . OMGosh , I have to get out of here . It seems like everybody is super unhappy all the time and mad about pretty much everything . Note to self …” Save yourself now ! Apply elsewhere . There are soooooo many great companies that need me right now . Hey , you , I mean I’ll , no wait we’ll be happy somewhere , sometime , someday “ .
Anyway, it’s been great to post here . What an amazing website , where they still list Staples as a public company with like a million stores . So up to date .

And the people who really did not want to leave were laid off. Like the previous comment….if you want to leave then leave. Maybe that will save someone’s job who is happy to stay.

Honestly, my experience with Staples was terrible. Looking back, I ask myself, ‘why in the he-l did I endure that torment’?
Anyway now 20% wage increase, 50% of work load, corporate employee 6 figure salary.
I’m not hating on those who have elected to stay. If you are happy, stay. Nothing wrong. It all depends on your circumstances.
Good luck and happy new year!

Try a little sincerity next time in your “call to leave” message. You sound like a Staples HR hack or clueless c suite executive.

From what I see, the people that have the opportunity to leave… already have! Those that can’t or lack other advancement opportunities have elected to stay.
