Almost 3 years since the merger was announced (Feb.2019).....

I went to a branch to get a Truist Visa gift card after seeing it advertised on the Truist website. The teller told me that only BB&T account holders, not SunTrust clients, could purchase Truist Visa gift cards. The bank manager confirmed it.... I was told that maybe I can get one at the end of February
(the manager didn’t explain why the product couldn’t be sold to other than a BB&T client.

The gift card is no biggie, but what IS alarming is that 3 years after announcing the MOE, and Truist doesn’t have its act together to sell a ”Truist” product to someone with a SunTrust account at a BB&T/SunTrust branch, and the branch manager can’t explain why?

After 3 YEARS? My one remaining acct leaves this week.... it feels to me that something is very very wrong.

My sympathies to all those who haven’t yet found their escape route out of Truist.

I left 9 months after "legal day 1" because I could no longer take the ineptitude of the people and processes that were put into place. I tried to get a BB&T person on my team set up with SunTrust access, and after 9 months of phone calls, filling out forms (many of the same forms multiple times), emails, escalations, etc., it still hadn't happened. I had probably put at least 40 hours of work over that time trying to make that happen (at one point on the phone with the SunTrust help center for an hour and a half trying to figure out where the problem was.) It was RIDICULOUS and I GAVE UP. And that's a tiny example of the he-l that I dealt with. I was so stressed 24/7 and yet I actually accomplished nothing of value in that 9 month period after legal day 1. I'm not surprised by this story at all and I'm sure anyone who is still working there isn't surprised.
