What's the best alternative to Apache? I've been looking around and it seems that most of the usual suspects have the same problems that we've been having, and then some extra ones to boot. I don't care about getting a job with higher pay if it's going to come with more stress and no work/life balance, for example. But that leaves me stumped, where are all the people who are leaving Apache (and there are a lot of them right now) going?

The ones that went to Oxy like 6 years ago are still there...
You “know for a fact” that majors won’t hire well rounded individuals. Hilarious. Did you interview, fail, and that was your takeaway?
Ever heard of “Jack of all trades, King of none”. More like it.
Apache has a salesman as IT, has Incident Mgmt. as HSE, mo--n as CEO. No Kings.
Take a look at stock prices. All Jokers.
Just wait till you’re vested and walk.
People are going to small independent companies. Depending on your work experience and knowledge. I know for a fact the majors do not want to hire individuals that are well rounded because they don’t want to pay higher wages. Pertaining to individuals with downhole experience and a lot of surface facility experience. Your best bet is to stay. If you work in a Non Core field. You will most likely get a severance package in the next couple of months. Good Luck!!!!!
