Thread regarding Splunk Inc. layoffs

I guess my only question is why is Splunk so bad

it is completely and utterly convoluted with friends hiring friend who are hiring friends and hiring their friends. EVERYWHERE

Love the condescending-out-of-touch answer of the first response. splunk.

hm, seems like justification for creating an echo chamber. Also i think the word TALENTED is being used generously here based on my experience with Splunk. It seems like its just more like "lets just hire people i know and make an empire." Anyways, it seems to be doing wonders for our company culture and stock price

Haven't been in the IT field very long, huh? That's how it goes.
Talented people network with other talented people. They like working together, and they end up at the same places as a result. Friends tell friends about open positions at their company. If they're good enough, they get hired. Happens all the time.
