Thread regarding VMware layoffs

It's funny they think it can work this way

I am surprised at how absolutely sure they are that everything will be fine if they replace an experienced and talented person with someone who has almost no experience and literally does not know what he is doing. Of course everything is going downhill because of that. What miracle needs to happen for them to realize that this strategy is not sustainable?

Customers are starting to notice and are voting with their wallets, while good employees with talent and personality are voting with their feet. Whichever customers remain for the next 3-5 years are in for a really sh---y ride.

Many BUs now has the same racism and favoritism problems. Alienate senior staff until they quit. Then replace with employees (Indians) with same pay and titles but way less to no experience.

I know 13 employees who joined and left within months after they experienced the toxicity of first line managers and directors in certain BU.

That’s what happened to me. I was laid off last year because my face didn’t fit and my director didn’t like me. My replacement had no experience in doing the role but the director liked him.

I am not a manager, and my goal is to please my boss and retain my job. So not going to judge on that one.

Question is why nobody on twitter, linkedin or some major newspaper about write/talk about toxic atmosphere / mobbing/racists behaviour in VMware???

If this happened in Google, Facebook or Microsoft this will be around globe

It all starts by hiring toxic managers whose goal is to please the boss and retain own job. No wonder the toxicity favoritism and racism allegations are all over vmware.
