Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

New work truck PLEASE!??!!!

Multi billion dollar company bragging about all these record profits, yet my work group drives around in these piece of sh-t chilli wagons. Trucks constantly breaking down weekly. 10 years of the same sh-t. Most trucks have well over 200,000 miles, work on hopes and dreams. Any other work groups going through same thing??????

All of our work trucks are barely holding on, they are never shut off and run all three shifts. The car dept are currently using rentals! Small SUV’s with 300 brake shoes in the back! Lol. They look pretty beat up already.

I drive by a bnsf guy today driving a new super duty, I was in a dirty beat up Colorado that’s got the check engine light on and the doors have literally fallen off of in the past. Our other gem is an f150 that runs out of oil so yeah, the work trucks are a joke here too!

For my work truck, they gave me an old rusty tricycle with a bell and a flat tire.

The truck situation is pretty much system wide. The only new trucks I saw were being driven by the management team. The majority of the time they're just sitting in a parking lot, because the management team is too lazy to actually do something that requires actual driving.

278,000 on our truck. It’s in the shop a lot lately. Been fighting to try and get a new one. ARI should allow more maintenance but they don’t, Only oil changes

It sad, we are lone workers with big territories. They want us on call 24/7. And complete all testing and support. Makes it damn near impossible if your stuck riding with coworker and covering 2 territories. If they did the proper maintenance on these vehicles they would prob last longer. ARI don't like servicing transmission fluid, or tune ups. I don't get it.

My last truck was 12 years old, 165,000 miles , it was reliable and drove ok. Boss said it was too old and cost too much to fix ac cooler . New truck not outfitted with a covered tool box bed topper. They spent $7,100 to outfit it with bed boxes.
