Thread regarding Cummins Inc. layoffs

Arlington tx branch Temporary wear house workers paid more then technicians, when this was brought up to management we received veiled threats

The subject of lack of pay was brought up in a meeting with the facility manager for the fourth time over the course of three months, this morning. Spurred on by the discovery of the new temporary employees pay which is Way over veteran technicians ranging from five to ten years in the company. The response was a meeting in which they now expect three or more technicians to work per bay which is no more then 7x10 feet in order to produce 6 completed units a day. Until this meeting the average time is 50 hours per unit for one technician per bay. I’m the meeting the pay question was asked again by the employees but was completely ignored as if no one had spoken. The reprisal was to demand work quotas far beyond what has normally taken place over the last decade. We’ve talked to the regional manager and got the same treatment. Out side of the management and three long time employees the vast majority of us are at least 5 an hour under what the new temps are being offered for shipping jobs.

Yes they are forcing people into early retirement. You are offered severance, and if you don’t sign the paperwork you won’t get severance. Paperwork also states if you sign, you won’t sue, therefore won’t be getting severance. Happening all over.

They are trying to get rid of the older workers, see if you can get them on age discrimination. Also this is just going to get bigger and bigger and we have better start to stick together because they are trying to get rid of any worker that is expensive pure and simple.
