Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

Thoughts on raises and bonuses this year?

Any thoughts on raises and bonuses this year? Think the US salary tables will keep pace with inflation?

Bernie is probably not "sending" anyone - they may very well be doing it out of their own will....don't underestimate the motivational power of this "cheerlead your way upwards" culture he's fostered

@bozn & cobj: you are so spot on. LT/minions give the appearance w/ upvotes/downvotes to BS that all is great in attempt to falsely make themselves look good. It's an old playbook trick but folks are on to it.

I’m all for a good conspiracy but I doubt Looney is sending his people in here to downvote?? Ha ha ha

The k*nts started the work week I guess by coming on here and downvoting all the responses they didnt like lol...they're not even smart enough to post a few balanced posts pretending to be neutral / slightly positive to create the impression of a more supporting public opinion. Very telling about the quality of these bots currently being hired onto what used to be a great company. Pathetic. Go back to Bernard's instagram and LinkedIn feeds!

Amazed by the sense of entitlement here

Don't forget management layers have to have their "cut", so expect the supplemental % points not to trickle down, but disappear.

@ sick of the moaning: why is it that employees are the ones asked to display "one team" but the "LT" doesn't? Why do they not like hearing that we are low on morale and low on resources? Why do they take the time to send a bunch of cronies to upvote and downvote posts on an inconsequential internet forum instead of using that resource to make things change for the better? This LT is the worst I've see and I've been here near 25 years now. In a high risk industry like this, their arrogance and ignorance is shocking. Hoping and praying another Macondo doesn't happen out of this nonsense.

Bernie refused to even acknowledge the bonus during bp & me last week. He was kind of a jerk about it.

Oh wow Bernard's Bots (or the Bernardettes as some like calling them) are here on mass upvoting BS responses "the LT has a lot of support here" lol...yeah makes sense considering people come to the layoff dot com to support their LT hahahaha

"Judging by the reactions to these posts the LT clearly has majority support here which is great to see."
Yeah, right. lol! That would only be because the LT is here providing that perceived support. Nobody is that naive to believe that fake support.

Hey Sick of the moaning, I think that what people are sick of is seeing their co-workers get "reinvented" into unemployment or leaving due to lack of opportunities and then being saddled with their work but not seeing any change to salary/grade/recognition. Couple that with the currently high returns the business is seeing, the share buybacks, and returning money to shareholders and yeah...I can see why people would be wanting a raise that is at least half of what inflation is running.
While we need to understand that, yes, the business (ours and O&G in general) has come through a tough time the ELT needs to also understand that the employees have also and yet maintained delivery.

I think people need to realise that we are barely a year past reinvent and still in the clutches of covid. The LT are trying to build a sustainable company which will prosper in the coming years so we should not be short sighted and complain! Especially about a pay increase that might be a couple of % below inflation (some companies will not give raises at all). It feels like we need a bit more of a One Team mentality..

No more than 4% likely flat for everyone with a “getting us closer to other industries” as a tagline(while ignoring oil is a blemish on our resumes and need to actually pay more)

  1. 2 bonus is my prediction with “safety” low “cyber safety” and “reliability” as the scape goat for the reason we did not get 1.5

Hope I’m wrong on both but LT clearly wants to pay lower levels while slashing benefits to get us closer to retail pay vs other oil majors or tech

Should be 5-6% raises minimum. Even if inflation is transitory, you've still lost purchasing power on a permanent forward basis. If raise pool sucks, it will just ki-l morale more and accelerate the exodus.

Bonus should be minimum 1.4. No way Q4 results will be bad at these oil prices

According to my LM, it will be much less than rate of inflation. I wouldn't expect a high bonus factor. Probably 1.0 to 1.2.

Expect below inflation.

Not likely considering that Bernie said last year's 4.5% was really very good. The ELT will say something like "Inflation is only transitory." as a way to keep the salary bumps low. Never mind the fact that Inflation is at a 40yr high. Oh, and with no personal score your new DL from reinvent has a discretionary supplemental % points to split up amongst their team.
I'm hoping for a 1.6 factor but I'm sure there'll be some reason or another to pay as little as possible.
