I would love to go hang out at hotel parking lots during hiring sessions and gather up prospective applicants and let them know the truth of how bad it is and to run away from the interview.

I saw that happen too in my area. I just don't get why the executives are so confused as to why people won't apply for a job there.
Back in 16-17 they had a local hiring session. A cpl of us were in the yard office waiting for traffic to clear. The person running the session told the group they had to take a call and they would be back in about 10 minutes. So two of us went into the conference room and told the group that there were no positions available at our terminal (there were none and they weren't going to add jobs), that UP was lying about where they were going to work. All of them were going to be forced to work at other terminals over a hundred miles away. We also explained that they all would be furloughed immediately as they're were already 20+ guys furloughed. 7 of them got up and left immediately. The rest left after getting their lunch.
Just tell them to look at the Glassdoor reviews.
