Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

I still find that incomprehensible

Can someone please explain to me, because I really don't understand, how a company can value those who are lazy and do sloppy work more than people who are totally dedicated to their work and work to exhaustion every day? What's the catch?

The unions sold out - UP owns them. Unions only protect the lazy and not hard work.

UP likes sloppy work almost as much as they like sloppy seconds

@3urz What about the 11 or 12,000 employees that were furloughed or fired? Should we include them in the respect thing? Where was their respect when they were walked off the property for no reason other than profit? Some of those folks had decades under them. Please explain how someone on the outside can determine what is wrong with the company from within? If you're going to use that logic, then wouldn't the SHAREHOLDERS know what's wrong with the company? Wouldn't the Wall Street investors know as well? Why wouldn't the "disgruntled" employees have valuable answers? I'll trust any answer from one of them, before a UP manager. You came to a really poor place to be asking for respect, even though you posted an insult to others yourself. The OP is either not real observant, completely blind, or a troll. The serious inquiry you are talking about has already been discussed many times for years!! The leadership at the UP has been bad for a very long time, but thank you reminding us again. So why should this post be treated any differently?

This is a serious inquiry. The @OP is within a situation where he/she is at a loss in their UP environment. Most of the responses here are from disgruntled employees who have no valuable answer. It takes experience from outside this company to evaluate what the heck is wrong from within. Pls give the OP some respect, combined with valuable advice. The leadership here is compromised; and, all he/she wants is to versteh the crud experienced on the job. You knuckleheads just want to attack any and all. So as to make your existence worthwhile to your selves. Move on!

It's because they dont have a conscience and will just sign off whatever needs done so they can fu-k off.

Because most (not all) of the people in positions of power got there lacking the skills needed.

  1. e.:

*Lawsuit or the possibility of one
*Cronyism
*Nepotism
*Promoting the lest desirable to move them out of the way

And there are other reasons. In the end though, these persons are weak, inferior and feel they have some special gift that's better than others.

Now, a good worker is a threat to their position. Whereas a sorry one isn't. They must destroy good character and traits along the way to survive.

It sounds like the first step to becoming a manager. The few that actually promoted from the ground, went back to the ground because of the BS that goes on within the management ranks.

Good question! It’s one of the reasons I left and let me tell you, it was the best decision I ever made!

From what I’ve seen, the people that are lazy and sloppy are diversity hires.
