Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

Boondoggle afoot

If you want to see idiocy writ large, look at the document dump CHK did this morning on the SEC’s web page: SEC.gov | Company Search Page

Josh Viets is our new COO. Another nobody from that intellectual powerhouse, the Colorado School of Mines (Just like Dougbo.) Is that school accredited now?

Continental and Doug are buying the Powder River garbage. Did Doug even really leave?

CHK is buying Chief and Tug Hill. That should be good. The Chief people are as sleazy as most out of OKC. It’s a privately held company so the financials are mostly works of fiction. I bet they are taking CHK for a nice ride. Nick’s too d-mb to know any better.

CHK recently dumped 13 million shares of stock on the unsuspecting.

All more evidence of the 3 card Monty motif behind CHK.

Can you imagine the fees the boondoggle will generate for the friends of the frauds running CHK?

CHK has never been anything more than a compensation scheme for a small group of good old boys and their well-paid stooges. The employees and shareholders of CHK aren’t even an afterthought.

What qualified candidate would leave a job to come to a company that will be merged any day now? That’s right. Nobody. That’s why we got a guy my friends at ConocoPhillips say is bad news. Just adding to the list here. Can’t wait til bonuses pay out and stock vests. I am not alone in jumping from this sinking ship

I heard Bloomberg Energy is going to release an article titled: D-mb and D-mber- Lawler and Viets: The Oklahoma City Story.

People are working up script for a movie.

Lester Diamond as Doug L (Lester was the character played by James Woods in Casino);

Lloyd Christmas as Josh V.

As a shareholder, I’d like to understand what we are getting with this new COO. From what I can research, there’s not much there there. I haven’t read anything supportive. Don’t know him, but at this level, I would expect a more impressive and deeper resume. Any international experience? Any business experience? A graduate degree? Any experience outside the Permian? Why wouldn’t we pursue a much more experienced person to lead Operations? Certainly this was a diversity decision. Looks like a malleable fall guy

Good riddance. Celebrating here at ConocoPhillips. Our gain is your loss. Your incoming COO will take your work and pass it off as his own. He will look you straight in the eye and lie without hesitation. Be very careful with this one. He really has no technical or business depth of knowledge.

CHK CEO commented on incoming COO: "As we refocus our portfolio around our strongest assets, Josh's demonstrated operational leadership, technical ability, and diverse experience driving efficiencies which deliver results will play a critical role in our future success."

Well that explains why Tim Beard didn't get it. He doesn't have any of those qualities.

I worked under the incoming COO at ConocoPhilips. He's a arrogant narcissist and is only here to fill his pockets and his ego. He left ConocoPhillips because he didn't get recognized as CEO material. Enough said.

It says we are acquiring Tug Hill for Marcellus positions.

Didn't we just spend the last 8 years dumping, at great cost, Marcellus positions?

I think you got something there regarding being in business just to enrich the friends of the people running CHK. That's the only explanation that makes sense.

It's like a Teddy Pendergrast song: break up to make up... That's all we do.
