Thread regarding Lenovo layoffs

Layoffs in the next three week

Why are there rumors about layoffs before the end of the year? Has Lenovo ever laid off people so close to the holidays?

Lenovo does not care about the time of the year. when I was laid off, Lenovo gave me my layoff noticed in November with an effective date of Dec 20th. Tough to swallow, but I moved on and got a great job with a different company.

No one cares about your feedback regarding business results.

Agreed, but that's all that the troll has. His answer to everything is: "BuT lOoK aT tHe RePoRtS".

@Cztj+1ef0BLt3, first of all, no one would “resign” or “leave” under the mandate. The message was that it would be a termination. The initial question was regarding how many people were terminated. No one cares about your feedback regarding business results.

the LESS THAN 0.001% OF EMPLOYEE who left did so of their own accord. They made their own decisions. The company preferred they stay, but they made their own choices.

You should try looking at the business results, and the ongoing hiring in America. We have more employees in NA now than before pandemic, so how does that translate to "no one wants to work here".

Why not go find yourself a new job. Your definately unhappy working in Lenovo.

ps, to the other, 99.99% compliance to the request please be vaccinated or declare why not for medical or religious reasons. It is not difficult.

>those who did resign, a number that barely registers and would be no different to most >weeks of the year.

Translation: we don't care how many we lost. People are cheap and replaceable, we'll just dump the work onto the poor saps that are left and tell them how lucky they are.

meanwhile open positions to hire runs into many hundreds.

Because no one wants to work here. Packages are below average, workload is unsustainable, culture is toxic. It's a cesspool.

I assume the 99.99% is your opinion and not fact

  1. 90% compliance with employees either proving they are vaccinated or medically/religiously exempt.

those who did resign, a number that barely registers and would be no different to most weeks of the year.

meanwhile open positions to hire runs into many hundreds.

keep calling it wrong doom mongers.

there he blows, I think we have him captain,

so predictable, I will give him one thing he is constantly ho-o-phobic, maybe trying to tell us something about himself, over compensating I think it is called.

and offcourse YOU earn more anywhere outside of Lenovo, because you were a sh-t employee inside it.

Non IBM ? Non Moto ? did you actually get recruited to come in ?

wow.

Bloody share price up again, I might have to go offshore.

Yep! Ever since I gave this Chinese sweatshop the one finger salute years ago, I've worked less, made more, and have much less stress and pressure in my life! You said it bud!

I suppose being so low paid, under valued, over worked and not recognised as promotable working on the garbage truck did take a lot of pressure off you.

well done, achieving your ambitions.

let us know what the accounts say about half year performance. let us know how many lenovo people get laid off will you.

forget the graphs up, look at the actual numbers.

  • Poor guy, reverts to personal insults,

Poor guy, has no concept of reading comprehension to realize that my insults were all in response to his - my insults are just MUCH better. I can't expect much from someone who is actually proud of holding an MBA degree.

  • Anyways vast majority of Lenovo got a record December bonus,

Considering the base salary is below average for the people actually doing work at Lenovo (read: not management) -- this doesn't impress me.

  • Its a wonderful life.

  • Genius,

D-mb@a-s!

  • Can you read a set of accounts ?

Yep. Probably better than you.

  • Record performance across the board.

Snore. Typical MBA: "Graph go up = good. Graph go down = bad". But we'll stick to that, since that's about the extent of your intelligence.

  • People who get laid off, their jobs are , quite literally, redundant.

Sometimes - yes. I've seen many good people lose their jobs because the manager just doesn't like them or are trying to save their buddy's bu-t from a layoff... Guess what - that's completely legal as long as the person being laid off can't prove anything. Most people on this board have been witness to it, or have been victim to it themselves. Your prefect company is full of corruption - you just don't want to admit it because "Yay- Graph go up! Yaaay accounts say we good - yaaayy!"

  • What do the old tired IBMers want ?

Beats the sh!t out of me. I'm neither old nor an IBMer (current or former).

Feel better? Your trolling game is still pathetic, but come back anytime to have your @ss handed to you.

  • Company is not taking advantage of the situation, it wants people to be safe.

Lol!

  • It is also hiring everywhere, so doesnt [sic] want to lay people off but feels it has no choice.

Lol!!! Lenovo lays off every year, multiple times a year. They love getting rid of people - it's good to keep expenses low. Just keep piling on the work of the people that are left and tell them they're "lucky to be working there".

  • but hey spin it whatever way you want.

Nah, that's Lenovo's job: Control perception of reality as much as possible and make excuses when it doesn't go your way.

people have till 10th January to comply.
Get vaccinated or state reason, medical or religious, for why you cannot get it.

Company is not taking advantage of the situation, it wants people to be safe.

It is also hiring everywhere, so doesnt want to lay people off but feels it has no choice.

but hey spin it whatever way you want.

People are terminating themselves.

This is why they kept it as a company policy. They have an idea how many will reject the shots. It’s a free layoff for Lenovo.

It's not a rumor; it's the vaccine mandate. People have been given ample notice to report vaccination status or face termination. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if Lenovo uses that as an excuse to get rid or more people.

What would even be the reason for waiting until the last few weeks of the year to cut people?
