Thread regarding Marathon Petroleum layoffs

Not everyone can be satisfied

Since I can’t believe that it’s just their incompetency to blame, I’d rather think that leadership doesn’t really want this to be a great company for employees. Basically, they aren't even trying to make everyone happy because it's difficult for them to create an environment in which both top dogs and shareholders and employees are all satisfied. Just my 2 cents.

MH isn’t very good at his job and MPC does not pay well for oil or refining companies

Everybody without significant family ties to San Antonio has left that office for better pay & culture elsewhere

You’re right, company lacks direction and is full of incompetent people in Findlay

We can only hope and dream to be part of Valero but MPC is too big and bloated for Valero to afford and the FTC/SEC would probably not allow such a merger.

I tend to think they don't care about employees, they think they pay better than other industries so they can treat people bad and they'll put up with it. They are poorly managed due to ppl promoted for superficial reasons and have so far succeeded inspite of their incompetence. At some point id--t mgrs will fail and mpc will probably be bought by valero.
