Thread regarding Cerner Corp. layoffs

Cerner layoffs planned to begin in 2022.

Let’s don’t forget what happened when Oracle took over People Soft. There was some pretty deep slashing of former People Soft jobs.

Oracle grows by acquisition. They look for takeover targets with cash reserves or capitol holdings or customers they want.

In regard to cerner directly, if the past is any indication, be aware that the current cerner workforce is going to take it up the back side on this. Virtually all non technical positions will be gone before too long. Technical areas will be assessed to determine their potential to be a profit center

In the end, we’ll see lay offs beginning pretty quick. Some of it will be planned attrition, early retirement, performance reductions, and then out-and-out layoffs.

I very much agree, Business history has shown no matter what management says even if they try to paint a rosey future for the current employees that work for the large corperation being bought out or a (hahum) merger just to give the warm fuzzys to help run the bussiness till gone there will be massive layoffs from a company buy , start looking now ! If you want an exsample look at Sprint's (hahum) merger with T-mobile, different industry but still the same out come.
