Haven’t heard from the upper ranks lately. How disappointing! No thank you! No Happy Thanksgiving! No Happy Holidays! The leadership of this company needs to get it together.

I realize all Follett owes us is a paycheck. However, I do remember a time when the Quad FHEG would keep us updated on various happenings within the company and what was going on at corporate. This communication did invoke a sense of belonging and company loyalty. Since the last CEO left (PC? ) The Quad has gone to only the most basic of communication, and the main slider hasn't been updated in years. That makes associates feel pushed to the side.
Maybe my RM is overwhelmed, busy, or just taking care of personal stuff while on the clock but it is extremely rare to see the r.m., conf. Calls don't exist on a regular basis and when there is a rare call that doesn't get canceled it is just reading of the notes from home office. No thanks, good job, not much help with answers to questions. I stay because I like my campus, the people I actually work with.
When jobs are so plentiful and everyone is hiring, you would think that the upper management would at least pretend to care about their employees in order to keep them around. It's about putting in the bare minimum of effort. Let's look at our jobs o over the last, say, 5 years. How have things improved for us? We've seen layoffs and payroll cuts, more and more tasks added to our weekly duties, no raises or raises that don't meet the COL increase (which means your overall earnings actually decreased by working here), etc. I could go on but everyone working here knows the state of this company.
So, you would think that RMs, GVPs, and the executive suite would at least try to show their appreciation. That's all it's about. It's about gratitude. But the truth is this: These people do not care about you. They're not your family. They're not your friends. But they could at least pretend to be decent employers every once in a while. At least put in that much effort. For all they ask of us, it's the least we deserve from them.
I mean, you get a paycheck every week/bi-weekly and you still need a pat on the head to say “Job well done!?” Call me crazy but never wanted continuous praise for a job I was hired to do…..SMH. Somebody get this kid a PACI!!!! HARD EYE ROLL
They're going to recognize field teams by loading ISTs shortly. Happy Holidays!!
What a sh---y culture. We already know what local leadership thinks of us. However, it would be nice to know the same at each level and up. Just goes to show the lack of respect this company has for team members. Let’s try putting people before profit and let’s see what happens. Cause clearly, what you are doing now isn’t working!
follett is a rudderless ship adrift in the doldrums.
Good! May its aimless hull be gashed open by a huge, easily seen, easily avoided rock or iceberg. This stinking corpse needs to be dispensed with!
Death spiral. Leadership collecting paychecks and speaking, when forced, to state mindless platitudes.
Sorry.
Agree with OP. Not much is done to recognize the field teams during the holidays.
Your checks clear each period? You're welcome.
I work at the Home Office and I have heard plenty from Leadership. If you are from the field, is your Leadership not communicating?
