Thread regarding General Atomics layoffs

They're missing the mark

I understand that laying off older and experienced employees makes sense as simply a cost-cutting measure considering they are paid the most. However, what management doesn't take into account is the price of knowledge and experience we're losing. They've already had to hire two people to do what one of the older, laid off employees did on his own - and even now it's not up to his standards. The company loses more than it gained when it got rid of the highest paid employees.

The young people that are attracted to GA are not what you would classify as high performers! These are young people going into an industry that under pays and works with out dated technology. Also, it’s young people that are underpaid and unable to get hired at a big tech firm. So stating young hire at GA is a good thing would only come from someone with no experience

Yeah completely disagree. The older folks at GA come with the baggage of bad habits and are milking it till retirement. A major cultural shift is needed and hire young people is definitely the way to go. It’s already happening on my team and honestly improvement are resulting because of this

We don't need experience when we still have plenty of brown nosers, back stabbers, yes-man, etc.. to take on the work load.

LMAO (Telling my new co-workers and they're laughing so hard that they're practically falling out of their chairs).

Older employees at GA have no knowledge and outdated experience. The older employees are training incompetent younger employees. A massive cultural change needs to take place to get this company in the right direction. I have never worked with such an incompetent workforce in my life! Older employees have the worst bad habits and nothing will change unless a massive cultural change is implemented.
