Sounds like the “option” of returning to office will no longer be optional, and managers/HR better be ready for a mass exodus. Strong arming is not going to work with the plethora of jobs currently hiring. I know lots of employees that will see that as the last nail in the coffin and will begin looking immediately. Get ready for an even bigger sh*t show of doing more work than you’re already capable of with the departure of many.

If ten years of watching people get laid off at least twice a year didn't ki-l DST, nothing will.
If you're smart, you'll get out now, when companies are practically begging for workers and you will get better pay and benefits by switching jobs.
He-l yeah. Use the Great Resignation to your advantage.
This will be DST next way of having a work force reduction without paying out any separation packages. Trust me it is coming. They would not pass up this opportunity to sc--w over the long-time employees.
