Does anybody mind sharing what kind of severance they were offered as part of their layoff? I'm mostly wondering if some changes were made due to the pandemic or if it's still the usual. Also, were you offered extended medical coverage (an additional month or two, or does it end with this month)?

It's case by case for early retirement compensation.
The two months (60days) is required by CA. Must give at least that amount of notice before they let you go. So technically you're still a GA employee during that time, but they don't want to give you work access in case you're a disgruntled person. So if you get a new job during the first two months, don't tell GA or they can legally stop paying you for that time (you aren't employed by them anymore). Good luck folks. I was laid off last year and I'm much better off now. Should have made the change earlier and on my own terms.
I heard 2 MO plus 1 week for every year of service. Not sure about healthcare
