Thread regarding General Atomics layoffs

It used to be great to work here

Unfortunately, that time has passed. Now this is a completely different company and everyone's job here is very uncertain. This is hard to accept given that most of us felt very comfortable here. I guess that's one of the reasons why most people decide to stay here for a while, thinking that something will improve and that this will be the old GA again.

I used to love GA until about 2019 when they did a reorganization and it seemed like everything went south after that. Adding the Covid BS on top of that compounded things. GA doesn't hold their managers accountable like other companies do so managers run roughshod on the worker bees.

I've been at EMS for quite some time. Most of the people who were here when I started have leaft or been layed off. Business is suffering and disorganization/panic/bullying is the norm. Meanwhile, the upper management teamhave doubled down on their bad management practices hoping to keep control of things. Mr Blue put a lot of folks in place a long time ago and it seems they arent able to adjust to the changes. Hopefully things improve someday for those that remain.

For all those looking, I have a friend who just got hired at a small company here in San Diego. They are called 4Liberty. This person is trying to get me to come over. Been chewing on the idea. They have hired quite a few people from General Atomics apparently. This is according to my friend.
Here’s the website in case someone out there is looking:

They have a lot of job postings. My friend said they are growing quickly and adding more jobs often.
Good luck out there.

Yeah it hasn’t felt the same at GA to be honest... company morale has taken a big hit.
