Got something in the mail that Chesapeake is offering financial planning services for a fee of course for retirement and even showed my 401k balance. Is this a fu----g joke?? They took $2MM of my money when they filed bankruptcy and then laid me off. WTF is the reason they think they can help me with financial planning for retirement without hiring me and refunding my losses from their worthless stock they promoted until the end. This has to be a joke, right?

If you were under the age of 50, you were forced to have Chesapeake stock as company match contribution. Basically, everyone lost half their 401K balance when Chesapeake filed bankruptcy.
The company didn’t force you to have Chesapeake stock in your 401k. That changed immediately after akm was ousted. If you didn’t diversify, it sucks, but that’s on you.
They should have proceeded with the “cancel Chesapeake” operation in February 2021.
It could have been the beginning of EOG 2.
It’s too late now. Does by its own heritage and name
I am in same boat. Lost around $1MM. I don't think Chesapeake accepts that their reputation with handling the money of others is blown. The only way for a fresh start is to fire all the managers, planners, and leaders, rename the company, and never mention the word Chesapeake again.
S-e-a-n?
Anything offered by Chesapeake in financial planning is a joke.
The joke is on yourself.. Basic finance, as you don’t understand it, keep moving on…
