Welcome gifts for new hires

I have just noticed on linkdin that new hires in India are given gifts. I know for a fact it does not happen in the US sorry only India? Maybe because HV has become an Indian company?

Makes you wonder if they give sh^t about employees in other countries.

Hang in there! There are more incredible acquisitions, new product launches, and new executive talent coming aboard!!!!

We will all be Meta-Vantarians!

HV Americas will be shutting down in 2023 along with closing of the Englewood Colorado Corporate Office. All US based employees will be furloughed without severance packages as was done in the past. If you are an India based employee, you're golden. If not, get your resume updated and current. Time to leave the sinking ship.

A lot is wrong with Vantara, but who gives a $hit if they are giving welcome gifts to people in India? It's a crazy job market globally and everyone is struggling to keep people in India- I can't imagine how Vantara is attracting new employees anywhere.

So nobody should be able to do good things to help new hires feel a part of the team because some leaders choose not to? Methinks you need to move on from Vantara.

Indians appreciate such gestures more than the folks in west. The company is going to save thousands of dollars by employing people in India so no harm in giving the new joiners some plastic toys.

What I'm concerned about is that environmental impact of those gifts will supersede the rainforest trees HV helped save using AI.
