Thread regarding Phillips 66 layoffs

Areas set for layoffs

I have heard IT and Finance will get hit with layoffs. I have also heard Procurement will get laid off. Any insights to which departments will get hit with layoffs? I have also heard of more finance restructuring, not sure if that means layoffs or relocations.

What really needs to happen is solicit an EOI and see if we can clear out a good amount of highly paid late career employees, particularly management. This would benefit the oldies, reduce future costs, and provide a lot of upside and opportunity for the remaining employees. Trust me, I was a voracious cost cutter and overall a-ho-e. Now get back to work!

Don’t forget outsourcing. We did such a great job of outsourcing part of treasury to the third world that it now takes more time and work to make corrections to their work. But hey, we laid off a bunch of low salaried employees so we saved maybe $10. Add in the I’ll-times finance re-org, it’s pure genius. However we spent millions on fees to consultants…so smart.
