Anyone knows what percentage it would be?

Working from home and being unable to gather together and share makes this so much more painful. Management is negative (lower than zero) help and just hides behind the WFH barriers they can easily manipulate. Layoffs have happened so much over the years now, sending so many good friends out the door, that I am having PTSD symptoms and will seek counsel. I urge others having these feelings to do the same. Thank you for this thread and please keep it going!

Why do you want to join back Bose? It's a sinking ship..
Wow, I just heard about this today. I was laid off about 18 months ago, and am still looking for opportunities. I guess I can give up on any hope my position will open up there again.
I just want it to be over soon so people do not stress out. It's difficult to sit and work while you think your name may be called.
Good luck to all.
Haven't heard anything yet. Looks like it's gonna to be bad.
I got laid off, was upset, later realized they gave me a fun little bonus (severance for 16 weeks) that i pocketed in my bank account after getting a new job before my vacation pay ran out.
Did anyone get any notifications today?
Just sitting here, waiting to get canned. Come on! Make it hurt!!! Send me the email and get it over with. How am I gonna start my professional wrestling career if you keep me waiting around like this?
This is going to suck this time here at Bose. I have been at this company for almost 22 years and this it the worst I have ever seen it. I think the company is so miss guided in its direction and its values, and the company encourages growth and at the same time turns down any wants for advancement and discourages wanting to learn. I hope this wakes people up and helps them realize how important its people are. I hear people say why stay there any longer. Simple answer is I have been devoted and I guess I will be until they kick me out the door, however this time it really has me thinking about new directions. I have seen some very close friends at this company who I never thought would leave and have always been supporting this company no matter what, just toss in the towel and say I am done. Bottom line is this company was once great and I had such strong feelings for wanting to stay here and proud of it_ Not so much any longer. Sad to say. - Good luck to us all this round and hoping for better times through its people. -
The pattern of Bose layoffs over the years - you could be out the day you are told, out the end of the week, out after making you stay a few weeks to get your severance, or likewise, some made to stay several months. Then there's the odd few laid off, some time passes, and they are back as contractors or rehired into areas. Saw some say their goodbyes last Friday.
It is 20% and each day is one department. It's going to be a nasty one.
Does anyone know how we get notified given managers are in the dark this time and are targets themselves.. Will it be immediate termination or given time till end of the week?
US only this week, not sure when EU is
It ends on Thursday. A different org is each day
I heard that will be completed by Wednesday.
I hear the layoffs begin Monday 2/28. Wondering if anyone has heard anything about the duration. Rough situation. Best wishes to all.
Oops, Bose does it again! The last 6 to 7 years of negative treatment and negative consideration of thousands of loyal employees are washing over the almost 60 years of its rich history. Some of us feel like big fools buying into the "we're family" until the "it's only business, goodbye". Again and again and again and again and again and again.
Echoing the grass is greener theme - it is in all dimensions at many other companies. Exactly my after Bose experience, leading to more nimble, effective, and insightful solutions, more rapid career progression, and yes, greater compensation as compared to the last several years sliding backward at Bose.
"While the past year tested us, we’ve emerged stronger and more resilient." Sounds hollow?
Anyone with talent and skill can find much better jobs at much better pay elsewhere. Combine that with periodic layoffs, and you get concentrated incompetence. Life at Bose is about to get much worse; as we've seen with every other layoff.
I’m already hearing about senior, tenured managers being let go. People who’ve walked the halls of Research in R&D for decades.
It’s a tragedy, really. And the previous post was absolutely correct - going to be a cr*p ton of extra work for the poor souls sticking it out with this company.
Being laid off can really stink. But life at Bose for the remaining employees will also be a real stink-show. For every person laid off, some poor soul has to pick up the extra workload. Life after a layoff is always a miserable time at Bose. Why is anyone even staying?
Also wondering about current workforce numbers between the layoffs and resignations. Bose has not had an office in Westboro for some years now
What is the total staff size going to be after this reduction? Are they going to be able to keep supporting Framingham, Westboro, and Boston Landing?
I heard the same 800.
Do we know when this going to happen and how many employees?
I heard 800
I heard 20%
It's a sh---y company now.. I don't know how people are sticking to Bose.. I got laid off 2 years back and I have been with Bose for 20 years.. Now I regret that why I did not move early. The opportunities outside are so good and paywise, much much better than Bose.
