Thread regarding General Atomics layoffs

Never stop applying

It's my own fault. For a while, I was constantly looking for a new job because it was clear to me that my job here was more than unstable. Then the situation improved a bit so I relaxed and stopped sending out applications. And now, again, rumors and speculations about what will happen and whether the layoffs will follow. If I hadn't taken a break and stopped looking for a job, I could've been working somewhere else already.

Unless GA creates some amazing new product that the government gobbles up (seems unlikely) their heyday is over. It's contract sustainment and support only at this point. The Air Force MQ-9 Reaper bread and butter contract that feeds GA is winding down, new contracts on this aging platform will be smaller.

Don't look to the past only the future. The job market is hot. Time to polish up your CV and update your LinkedIn and achieve your future. Otherwise you will be living in fear of the next layoff, not a good feeling.
