Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Disgusted

Centene literally flips us the bird every chance they get. Legacy Meridian didn’t receive bonuses last year due to the acquisition. The bonus this year was dismally low compared to previous years. I looked at the job listings and new reps are receiving $3000 signing bonuses for a lower position than mine. We got a new VP of Ops that came in and in her words “fighting hard for us” and promised a retention bonus of $1500. $1000 in Jan and $500 in Mar. That was a slap in the face considering we never received a signing bonus but something was better than nothing. No emails were sent for this at all. Got the $1000 in January and now they’re pushing the second half until Sept. Which makes it a whole yr to receive less than new reps. And because they never officially said this nobody has any hard proof that this meeting even happened and they also never told us that the second half was being pushed 6 months. What a joke.

You are lucky you got any retention bonus. Supervisor and above got nothing in SS. HR had the audacity to tell people that front line are the most important that is why they got them....okay whatever because we don't work 10 hour days 5 days a week or more but okay, I am not important. Sorry for the rant, I am irritated today.

@8eci+1g0ae9rv Not you being condescending and wrong at the same time. What would our members and PHI have to do with an employee zoom meeting? There’s no expectation of privacy unless strictly expressed.

I have worked at CNC a long time, subsidiaries like Meridian get the shaft. If you want to make $, go and work for CNC corporate or possibly as a rep for shared services. They will tell you what the think you want to hear.

@8eci+1g0ae9rv Oh, Corporate Sweetie: it is only wrong if you caught or are d-mb enough to confess. Don't be d-mb! Keep it to yourself. You can tell someone "During a call on __ date at ___ time X said..." Take excellent notes during the call and review your notes while reviewing the recording. Also, follow-up with the speaker via email writing "During our meeting today you stated "quote" and I want to verify you meant "quote." You are a stellar note taker, not a criminal. #TeamCenteneSweetie

Great advice sweetie, but recording meeting on phone or any external device is prohibited in accordance with compliance policies and subject to termination for doing so. We have to protect our members and PHI. If you have issues, speak to your manager directly. We are all afforded the opportunity to do so during performance reviews

Hello Sweeties: Record all meeting for future use via record function on your cell phone. Either dial into meetings through your cell or record via your desk phone via plug-in from your cell. Centene hates you!

@#TeamCentene that's the gaslight of the century. The margins are only tight when it comes to the current employees that worked relentlessly through this pandemic. And competitive? Compared to who? Size of workforce does not equal competitive. BCBS, one of your immediate peers, manages to provide top tier benefits, bonuses, pensions, and 401k matches. It’s insulting to come on here and tell us tight margins and completely bypass the points listed above while Mike N brought in $25m last year. So no, the margins aren’t tight.

Hey there!

Thanks for reaching out and we're sorry you're having a negative experience in regards to your compensation. As you may be aware, Centene operates as a publicly traded entity in the government-sponsored healthcare space. As such, we operate under tight margins and need to support our members as much as possible. Compensation policy is carefully reviewed and compared with industry peers. The labor market is very competitive and unfortunately can result in unintended situations. However, Centene Total Rewards are some of the most competitive across the country.

It seems really strange that externals are provided more benefits than internal. There are positions just as mines who are being offered work from out the gate. I’ve been here and still waiting on confirmation. I just don’t get it.
