Thread regarding General Atomics layoffs

The absurdity of striving for great performance

So far I have tried to have the best possible performance. After a colleague who had a great performance got laid off, I decided that I absolutely don’t want to bother anymore. What is the value of great performance here anyway?? The leadership does not value even those who give their best so I would say it has little value or none at all.

I got laid off even I have good performance and review! They decided to keep the person next to me who is just watching shows in the internet.

It seems like everyone at aGA is trying to beat their meets from previous reviews.

I don’t think the company took morale into consideration as one of the deciding factors for the layoffs. What are the positive people being positive about? Are they saying anything bright in the future?

At one time in GA's past, there was a feeling of "Loyalty" to employees that gave their all to present a good attitude and hard work ethic. GA, says its mission statement hasn't changed, but it has. To the employees, the mission statement has changed and the toxic individuals remain while the good people leave the sinking ship. The Golden magic carpet GA was riding in the past has been pulled out from under their feet. The change in leadership at ASI and Mission Systems (now just GA-ASI) right down to the supervisory staff, has undermined the morale in most all departments. But some of those supervisors got a "one full year's salary" severence package and smiling out the door. Unbelieveable?! The ones that put forth the good performance attitude were the ones most attacked by the toxic individuals and got raw deals or just layed-off. Don't feel bad, that same attitude will get you somewhere at another company. Keep looking. Good luck

Morale is so low at GA. There’s no point in striving for anything other than to get another job elsewhere.
