Thread regarding DST Systems layoffs

The leadership is indifferent to burnout and attrition

I am totally burned out. The pressure is so great and it's not worth staying here any longer. The other day I sent a bunch of applications. I've been doing a double workload here for months now because after my colleague left, DST still hasn't replaced him. How is it that leadership is not concerned either about burnouts nor employee attrition? What do you call it? Arrogance?

The amount of cr-p I took from my last boss who was a “climber” was unreal. I was continually blamed for not completing tasks that were never assigned to me and not following procedures that never communicated. Working through all of her mismanagement was a nightmare and frustrating. Luckily I was organized and prepared to defend myself and communicate her errors.

I quickly learned that they do not want people in the organization to do the right thing. Bringing up miscommunication, policy issues and standing your ground is not enjoyed by the execs. They want yes people only.

I worked as an assistant to "management". Any compassion, kindness, understanding, human caring towards regular staff is seen as a sign of management "WEAKNESS" and disqualifies them from being in management positions or any future advancement. So all management falls in line and show no kindness and humaness toward their fellow men. Reminds me of how some of the worse governments to ever start wars operated.

I have a feeling these minuscule merits are about to make the company flounder more than it already is currently.

Here’s a hint to anyone in a similar situation; don’t take up the slack, don’t do the work of those who quit. Just refuse, or tell them “ok if I do x I won’t be able to do y and z”. It’s that simple. They will give you more work than anyone can reasonably manage, know why? “When you’ve got a good horse you ride it”. Managing is literally their job, make them do it.

On the upside I really don’t think anyone can get fired at this point. They are struggling.

Its always been that way. Work lots of overtime and not get paid extra. Travel for DST and not get paid any extra for time flying to clients and back, which is on your own time. Not during company hours. DST is nationally known as a sweatshop.

You should Ghost DST. Just leave without notice, as I did. DST wont be around to give you a bad reference in 2 years. Anyone will hire you now if you have just average skills. LEAVE
