UP hiring 1400 employees this year. They say this is to improve service. Hopefully they will not be cut off. Good times!

Who gives a flying fu-k.
The more employees they have, the more they bird dog and test us, looking for any excuse to fire. I hope the new recruits have no work ethic and enjoy street dr-gs. Been quite pleased so far!
That's not gonna happen. No one wants to leave their current job to work part time for a company that hates them. Work 3 months just to get furloughed and maybe recalled in 6 months. Back when the railroad paid good wages maybe it was worth it. But I can make $60k pretty much anywhere now and have weekends, holidays and a regular schedule.
I hope they have enough hot dogs for everybody
The next question is how many new hires are going to get layed off this same year ?
Do you have to have a high school diploma for UP to hire you?
What, no hiring bonus ? I would work for them if they let me handle a train like Denzel Washington did . Notch 8 mister.
700 will be former convicts. Can’t wait that should be fun. Don’t upset bubba or you’ll get it.
Hope they can pass the Whizz Quiz. That's been a tough one, for most of the applicant's.
They will have to find 1400 people without tv or internet that haven’t heard about UP or watched any of the STB hearings. Are they accepting paper applications?
They will probably have to use a temp agency to find that many people that want to work for Enron Pacific.
1400 new TE&Y MIGHT cover the current level of attrition. Also need to factor in that the current rate of retention past 6 months for new hires in many locations is dipping below 25% so we need to hire 3-4 to keep one.
That's assuming there's actually 1400 people willing to apply at the UP.
