Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Contract way over due

Unions doesn't have the strength to get us our honest wage increase, boy I can't wait to see our medical package! How about the attendance policy.... we are doomed I say.

Just remember when your outside working in this dangerous environment and having a hard time paying your bills. The railroad thinks that you are overpaid. I am holding out hope we get a raise because if not I’m quitting. I take home 1500 a half after getting hammered with all the retirement and job insurance etc.

I say let's keep the political opinions out of it. I don't care what one's politically views are.

I think the contract depends a lot on the next election. If the GOP takes over congress all bets are off as they are very anti-union. Maybe that’s what the railroads are holding out for.

Last I heard company offered 5%, no back pay. Union counter with 30%, back pay, and heath stayed the same. Now we are in Mediation. Presidential Law board by next spring. Not hoping for much with a GOP congress incoming.

ehhh... the unions have held pretty fast this go around, hence why WE declared an impasse and pushed it to the NMB.

Debbie downer much? Seems the Union is doing more than I have seen in two decades. Maybe you guys need to do your part and work really really safe at work and not bend over backwards for a 15 minute quit on yard jobs. C’mon guys it ain’t hard to figure out people.
