Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

What is one thing the leadership can do to make your day better?

I'm curious, what's your biggest issue with Hy-Vee and what could be done to make your workday better?

The one thing that could make HyVee better is if Randy leaves HyVee. If Randy truly cares about HyVee like he say and want HyVee to get back on track then he needs to go. Time for you (randy) to recognize you have failed and continue to fail HyVee. With that being said maybe it’s time for you to move on or is your ego so big you would rather have HyVee be the next Kmart than to do the right thing

Randy work front on Sunday in any market. No adding help to kiss his a-s. Let him see how he single handly destroyed this company. One Sunday on front end and store outs ever where and 2 cashiers on busiest day. He needs a trip back to real retail and not super bowl suite or indy car suite.

I would stay away from retail jobs if you decide to leave HyVee. I’ve done mostly retail jobs for the last 20 years. Ten years with HyVee. To be honest HyVee was the best retail job I had so what does that tell you. Do yourself a favor and get out of retail type of work. I know it’s hard to change career fields but don’t limit yourself to another grocery store or gas station. You will ended up in the same position as you are now.

If you like to “Make days better”K-m&Go is hiring for all sorts of positions! Growing and expanding to more states if you’re mobile. Set schedules for FT!! Quarterly bonus for FT AND PT! Great benefits and good people. C-suite is available for support. You will actually even see and talk to the CEO without any pretense or that kiss the ring mentality you’ve come to know.

They could cut the bonus program for stores. I would rather not cut hours and to cut the stores bonus program. How is it fair that some store bonus 15% and other stores can’t make anything. Plus if the company isn’t doing well why would we waste money on bonus programs. It just doesn’t make sense. Better off keeping the stores fully staffed then understaffed and giving out bonuses. If HyVee is short on cash then let’s all make the sacrifice for the better of the company. I know this will be a unpopular idea but it just make sense.

For the corporate employees that remain, don’t make them do the work of everyone you let go. They were already working 70+ hours a week and now you want more with fewer resources. As--s what really needs to be done, lead teams and be realistic in workloads so that those who remain can work only the 45 hours that they are being paid for.

How about being prudent on cutting hours?
Use some common sense. 1 person cannot do the work of 2 or 3. Nor should they be expected to do so. It only burns them out and makes them want to leave. Customer service suffers. Store in-stock suffers. Store appearance suffers. What does it all lead to?
Unhappy customers and employees.

Or are there too many things that are wrong and no single issue would help by itself?
