Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

I feel bad for those who have been here for decades

You have watched over time as a once great company morphed into something unrecognizable and I can't even imagine how that feels. I've been here for five years and I only know the bad, which makes it easier in a way. Those who have known the good know what they lost. I think that's ten times worse.

Sounds like @1auo was one of those that never made the team, never got a date☹️ But he turned down the NBA to pursue his dream of being a cube monkey.

With the vow of poverty and fear of the devil probably should have joined a monastery.

Let me give you a taste of reality of the real State Farm and who they REALLY are. I never let them know my personal finances because I could see through their game. I never wanted to get promoted because I saw how management sold their heart to the devil. One day I got called into "at the time" a superintendents office. Now they call them Team managers. I really don't care if he knows this now and I kept it quiet for many many years. He/she said to me: "Don't you know that getting promoted has nothing to do with your work ethic. It has everything to do with who you schmooze with." I laughed and said Really! I didn't know that. I walked out of his office and said to myself.....this person is a pencil neck who doesn't have a clue how to manage people. Knows political science but we all know what we think of politicians. Perfect fit for him.

I was there for over three decades. To this day I don't trust a single one of them. They have way too many faces to keep up with.

To show how much you care for policyholders,. UNIONIZE!!!!!!

A union isn't for the workers, it's for the policyholder!

The company was built on caring about others. That is what made it #1. When a company employs and is surrounded by people who care only about themselves, it cannot and will not survive on it's hypocrisy. So when they live their private life is disarray and cannot live the mission or vision statement by taking care of those who live and believe in the promise, the foundation is cracked. When bonuses are out of control where there is more given to execs rather than the community they serve, their morals and ethics become questionable. So when someone says another thinks more of others than themself, I personally consider that person a hero in contrast to an all about me take care of yourself name calling narcissist. Think about it. Be the hero not the selfish egghead.

Lots of pity parties going on this site. The crowd that never made the team, never got invited to prom. Now their career is as meaningless as their pitiful lives.

If one can't be trusted in their personal life with poor ethics, they sure as H E L L can't be trusted in the business world. As a man if you lie to your bride, just imagine what you would do to anyone else.

@1hre. Charmed high school to indoctrination college to easy "career" and oath at an insurance company as analyst or "leader" then to lead the way in exploiting Systems, process, employees and policyholders.

Big pay for nothing. Yeah. Get with reality. Many many actors and spoiled bully brats work at farm and love it there. Everyone sees and knows third parties run it anyway.

Community sees it all despite the do gooder PR.

It's a cult with bonuses undeserved

I feel sorry for the unfortunate persistent posters in this site that seem very concerned about the s-x lives and fortunes of others, when they should instead be concentrating on improving their own lives.

I can only imagine what type of psychology they must have that drives them to be so infatuated with the lives and concerns of people who likely don't even know they exist.

I've been here for several decades and I absolutely love State Farm. I do not know what is wrong with some of you people.

I don't feel sorry for "some" of them. Multiple marriages, substance abuse, living beyond their means, and so on. If they would have kept to a normal lifestyle the could have retired comfortable after 3 decades. Choices have consequences.

@1bop I couldn't care less where we are ranked....if we are #2 it shows just how badly service in the Insurance industry has declined over the years.

You must be pleased to know Consumer Reports now ranks Sf #2 behind USAA at#1.

Post ID: @1bop+1gGHvFry

@fnu, 33 years ago when I started it was the same order except we always discounted USAA as niche and so we said we were number 2 behind Amica. We were always so proud of this ranking and used it in print advertising...until we fell to about 14 and then Consumer Reports was wrong...according to our internal surveys.....LOL.

SF is #3 behind USAA and Amica for customer service according to Consumer Reports.

Don't worry about me. I didn't grow up with participation trophies and have lived through many recessions.

We don't worry if someone calls us by the wrong pronoun.

We've even lived through high inflation like this, while paying off ALL our debts, including student loans.

Don’t cry for me. At least the COLA and the 15 percent raise set me up for a nice pension.

LOL-yes it is soooo bad they have produced record production, record growth, and record capital growth for 2 years in a row - So bad they have extended their lead over all their rivals. You fools have been claiming their demise for 6 years now….too funny😂

The company no doubt is a WAS! This is what happens when it's all about me and I don't care about anyone else. Shear CHAOS to say the very least. The one's who spoke out and didn't agree with the mess were labeled as "mentally ill....you need professional help..." all because they didn't "fit in" with their narrative. Just wait a time with patience. Their chickens will soon come home to roost and the one's they call "neanderthal" will survive. The saying of "give them enough rope" will soon come to fruition. Just look at the current state of affairs in our country. It is appalling and disgusting to say the least and corporate life has tagged right along with it. Decisions have consequences. It's going to take the common sense worker and voter to clean up the mess they have created.

Bigot/Snake Farm is headed down the path of no return. What young person with talent would want to work with us.

Agree with the original poster. To know what the company was and see the mess that now is claims is brutal. If this current garbage is all you know, that is probably easier to deal with. Bean counters running a service organization. Keystone cops in action.

Post ID: @yle+1gGHvFry

It is. I was there for over 34 years and got out. Most of this started when the current ceo came into office….a bean counter…then about 13 yrs ago they made the move to the 4 hubs and closed all local offices….tenured employees couldnt move so their experience went out the window….now its all about metrics with failed executive leadership…..someone told me they are trying to hire 3400 new reps…what does this tell you ? I feel for the young employees here and would suggest they look for another job as snake farm doesnt care about you…no pension…mandatory OT….hard to take a vacation day…mean while the ceo gets $20 million for his MIP bonus working at a mutual company…..
