hard to take it seriously when the same manager that was pressuring you to violate a rule to get a train out quicker yesterday is today crying at a courage to care meeting talking about how we don’t want to lose another family member.
Thus it became a joke amongst crews.
Courage to care was actually developed by the unions and endorsed by the management. I don’t believe it did very much good except to be mocked by the employees. Safety slogans are just that: slogans. They only work if they are embraced by the employees and backed by management. I am afraid courage to care failed on both counts.
