Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

How valuable is experience here?

I have more than 14 years of experience here. Unfortunately, I think that my experience is being valued less and less. It is also humiliating to see how much more valued are those who often don't even know what they are doing. Is the experience becoming almost irrelevant at MRO?

In essence you have two options:

  1. be used by MRO
  2. use MRO to develop yourself (until you can go somewhere else)

Why do you think a majority of management has only been with MRO for a few years?

Yes. This is definitely happening. Especially as field office employees got sucked to Houston and then left for better opportunities.
