Thread regarding Synovus Financial Corp. layoffs

Representation Matters

This company loves to hire white. White men, and white women. Look at the recent conventions or company gatherings. Who is up there presenting? Yeah. If you want to see diversity, or black employees, they’re hidden from view in operations, or other non-strategic roles. Look at the history of CEO/Presidents: White men. Usually related, and always in the good ol’ boy club.

Representation Matters. Just not African Americans, Hispanics, and any other tone NOT white.

Don’t bank Here.

The good old boys, wearing white dress shirts instead of a klan hood. Nepotism is the foundation, and it is still going.

It's unfortunate but this is very true. Most other companies embrace diversity, equity and inclusion. There is a direct correlation to those companies and their success. Diversity brings in different thoughts and innovation. If you only talk to people that look and think like you, then you will always be playing 'catch-up'.

What does the "Diversity and Inclusion Executive" actually do at Synovus? Does this company really want change within their organizations?

To me it appears that having a D&I department and exec is just smoke and mirrors. It's egregious to say the least to not have a POC in IT Executive leadership.

I'm all for WIT, but let's be clear, that the agenda is still white (no offense)

I challenge Synovus to promote within a POC to IT Executive leadership and have them VISIBLE and not tucked away deep in the organization.

Start your own business if you dont like your coworkers. Or are you waiting around for some celebrity to “empower” you?.

Synovus only represents the typical old school southern plantation owner. It’s who they are.
