Thread regarding Shaw Communications Inc. layoffs

What are the chances of a voluntary round for the rest of us?

If some are being offered early retirement, what are the chances that the rest of us will be given a chance to volunteer to leave? I think that would be easier on everybody. There are enough of us who would happily accept a package and if that would save somebody else who doesn't want to leave, even better. What are the chances of this happening?

Sorry everybody....I hate to say it, but if you missed your chance I'm 2018, it's gone. I knew they would NEVER offer anything close to fair ever again, took six figures and ran! Brad Shaw is the biggest crook in Canadian Media history, and does everything for the bottom line of his family's finances. His father is likely rolling in his grave seeing what his son has done to the company he built.

Shaw is already firing long term employees. I know a few friends that work there and they told me that there already have fired a few people in different departments that have been there for 15 years plus. Shaw is slowly getting rid of its best employees quietly and firing them. Shaw is not a good company. Its gone to the sh--s now.

I can’t imagine any part of a VDP happening again . They will want control who is staying / going this time . I would start the job search now before everyone in your area is looking for the same types of jobs . Morale will drop even more now that people are hearing about the early retirement offers . Good luck !

I would also take it without a second thought. Not likely to happen, though.
