Nobody should have to worry about having a job every day and we have been in this position for over a year. I think I've worried myself into a complete U-turn and now I'm hoping to be laid off just to get out of this mess. Before somebody comments on the current job market, I've been looking and things are not as great as everybody is saying.

There are a lot of tenured employees waiting for a check and a lot of tenured employees fuming because that is the exact attitude that led us to where we are today.
Take action if you want to leave.
Make each day positive and give your best. If there are options to arise wouldn’t you want to be considered to retain your tenure and grow with new opportunities?
Amen! I’ve been with the company for 20 years +. Just lay me off already. I am sick of this change in direction non stop.
In reality - there is no such thing as job security with any company, no matter the apparent intention of those in charge. You may consider using the current situation as a way to further your own future in some fashion.
The job market stinks.
I've been ready to leave for months, I'm just waiting for the right opportunity.
