Here comes round 2 of the recent layoffs, yet we have store managers, and other salary people who sit in the office ALL DAY LONG and look at cameras, glad we are paying store managers 100+K to SIT DOWN and watch us like hawks…

I don't work at Hy-Vee but one of my best friends, from elementary is a store manager. Started when he was 16, even went to college, got his bachelor's but Hy-Vee paid him more than what he could find with his degree (back in the day). Went into management program. I've seen him move countless times and delayed starting a family for this company. After several assistant positions in Iowa he finally got his own store some years back. He gets paid well, now, but also works 6 days a week, pretty much all day.
Def not our store manager, who has been in and out of many different positions with the company…
My store manager is always out on the floor busting his bu-t for our store.
Store managers barely make 100k and most work 6-7 days a week 11 hours a day…your entire conception of store managers is incorrect. They are more like highly under paid, making it not worth it to even go that route unless you are in your early 20s, single and have very little life outside of work.
$100k to watch you? Really? C’mon. Most store managers are working their butts off.
Hey I salary I working 6 to 7 days week and work 55 plus hours a week. I might spend 3 hours of 55 in the office fyi.
