Left to become a high school custodian, it’s a union job, and it’s wonderful! I left because the lack of good help, and because corporate can’t make a good decision to save their life.
I left this past year after 20 plus years with the company and started a new career with another company. My pay is not quite as good as it was but the treatment is way better. I have so much less stress and enjoy going to work everyday. The grass is way greener on the other side.
Went to Kroger as an Assistant Store Leader and Love it.
In my area 50hrs a week 65K the first year. 3 weeks vacation a bonus of 12k. So not bad at all. Better than working 60plus hours a week for 52k.
I know a woman who had to move to Colorado to take care of her mother and she took a retail job out there. She was promoted twice in the first two months there. Ki----g it. She said it's because of what learned about service and how to motivate people from working at Hy-Vee.
My last day was just recent after 23 years. I notified appropriate management and district management on 2 different occasions that our pharmacy was operating under hazardous conditions due to lack of support staff for the pharmacists. So many times just 1 pharmacist and MAYBE a pharmacy technician if we were lucky. The last HR person hired people to be a technician without checking to see if they even had a license for the state. On one occasion she knowingly hired a person to be a pharmacy technician that was charged with a felony against an elderly person in a hospital.
The patient's complained about not enough staff but no one in management or corporate would listen.
Never thought Hy-vee would drop so low in treatment if their employees
I retired about a year ago. I am happier now. I am very frugal and I do not need much, so having less money did not impact me that much. I have 4 grandkids and I am spending much more time with them now.
Good luck to all :-)
